Our medical teams responded to several incidents at events around the country last weekend.
A male suffered a cardiac arrest during one event. Thanks to the quick actions of marshals and the advanced life support (including CPR, advanced airway management and drug therapy) offered by our clinicians and North West Ambulance Service the male started to breath and his heart started working again. He arrived in hospital in a critical condition.
A female sustained a nasty lower leg fracture. Again our paramedic clinicians were able to splint the injury and offer strong pain relief including IV Paracetamol and Morphine. She was transferred to hospital for further treatment.
At cycling event a male sustained a shoulder injury that was assessed by our paramedic and was referred to A&E for an x-ray.
