Weekend Round Up –

Our clinical and timing teams were once again out in force last weekend.

Adventure Race, Snowdonia – we were covering a marathon event that involved a run up Snowdon and the completion of obstacles. We mainly dealt with soft tissue injuries and exhausted runners. Our hill medics were also involved in the rescue of a member of public (non event) who had collapsed. They worked closely with the local MRT and HM Coastguard.

Trail Run, Keswick – Two casualties were seen at this event in Keswick. Both soft tissue injuries were referred for x-ray.

Sportive, Carlisle – Two paramedics were in Carlisle providing cover to this event. Two casualties were dealt with, one of which had collided with the back of a van. No significant injuries were sustained.

Sportive, Borders – Another medic provided cover to a sportive in the Scottish borders. All competitors completed the event without the need of the medic.

Long Distance Bike Ride, Manchester-London – Our director provided remote event control services form our office in Ambleside. He took calls from marshals and competitors and helped with the smooth running of the event. It was a long 19 hours…..more so for the competitors!
